Code of practice on citizen engagement
📢 New Code of Practice on citizen engagement for knowledge valorisation from the European Commission has been published!
It’s out! 💥
📣 Great to hear that the European Commission recently adopted a recommendation on a Code of Practice on citizen engagement for knowledge valorisation!
💭 Code of Practice on citizen engagement
The new Code of Practice offers guidance for all R&I actors on how to actively engage with societal actors to jointly produce and valorise knowledge for the benefit of the economy and society.
The aim is to boost an enabling environment and build participatory processes and practices for sustainable citizen engagement, leading to the creation of innovative, knowledge-based solutions that better match the citizens’ needs.
This new Code of Practice identifies the need for a strategic approach at the organisation level which encourage cross-sector collaboration, awareness raising and enhancing the role of intermediaries. It also proposes the use of incentives, co-creation tools and digital solutions with a human-centric and sustainable design.
