CO-VALUE – Citizen Engagement for Knowledge Valorisation, Learning and Uptake in Europe – project aims to promote and strengthen citizen involvement in the adoption and sharing of research results through knowledge valorisation, within the framework of the EU Valorisation Policy and in line with EU Recommendation 2024/736 on citizen engagement for knowledge valorisation, adopted by the European Commission in March 2024.

At the heart of the project is the engagement of stakeholders from the Quadruple Helix (public administration, academia and research, industry, and civil society), which in Emilia-Romagna is represented by the regional innovation ecosystem as part of the Smart Specialisation Strategy. Following a phase of needs assessment and the identification of necessary incentives, which involved local stakeholders, the project has begun experimenting with participatory methodologies and new forms of citizen engagement.

The experimentation specifically involves two projects selected under the PR-FESR Emilia-Romagna 2021–2027 Action 1.1.2 call: REMEDY, which focuses on improving a remote patient monitoring device that can be integrated into clinical practice, and MOVERT, which promotes the development and testing of a vertical take-off technological demonstrator for Urban Air Mobility and Delivery applications.

The CO-VALUE project is funded by the Horizon Europe programme and is coordinated by STICKY DOT (Belgium), with ART-ER, the Giannino Bassetti Foundation (Italy), and the Alicante Science Park (Spain) as partners.
